I heard a joke the other day about writers, a writer walks into a room full of other writers. He introduces himself,”Hello there, I am Mark and I am a writer.” One of the writers asks, “Ooh you are a writer? What is your procrastination strategy?” *Que laughs.
I like to consider myself a writer even though lately I haven’t done much of the writing bit. The procrastinating bit, don’t get me started. Let’s just say if there was a contest, I would be disqualified because at the rate am going I am a professional procrastinator! Don’t get me wrong I think of writing all the time, I just haven’t gotten around to actually writing something! *sighs heavily.
Truth be told, we all procrastinate. Procrastination is like a devil on your shoulder telling you it’s alright if you don’t write today or the next day or the day after that , doing dishes or getting that stain you have had on your bathroom floor for the last three years is far much more important.
We have all fallen victim but with the more you write, with the more you are intentional with writing and try to write as often as you can. I trust, we shall overcome.
